The strongest Serbian offroad competition is just the grand ending of our quest!
November 6-13th 2016
Serbian Trophy is one of the toughest offroad competitions in Europe. Even the best prepared vehicles in hard class often return home defective as a result of the challenges, and winning it requires top skill, and guts. But we're not taking you there to compete (unless you insist on it, of course). Participants of this tour can attend Serbian Trophy either in tourist or competitive class. Even those not competing will visit the trial grounds of Kopaonik mountain and see all the action at short range! And before Serbian Trophy begins, a true magical journey of discovering the mountains of southern central Serbia will take us over a vast area in a true overlanding manner, so untypical and precious in Europe these days.

Approximate area of the tour(precise track available to participants)
Day 1 – Arrival to Golija
On the first day of our tour we’ll travel together to the southern mountain of Golija, the first of our offroad areas. We’ll depart from Belgrade around 13:00, and drive together in a convoy on paved roads to the Golijski Konaci apartments at the foot of Golija mountain. When we arrive it will already be dark – you’ll settle in you appartments just before time for dinner.
Day 2 – round trip of the Golija forests
The huge area of Golija mountain, covered by dense mixed forests rich with plant species (it was pronounced a nature park for it) is the perfect playground for all kinds of adventurers. You can explore them for the entire day seeing only a fraction of the area, and that is exactly what we will do on our first 4×4 day of the tour. There will be a decent amount of mud challenges, but the very extensive network of forest roads and trails gives us a chance to precisely target the difficulty that our participants request. On our way we will enjoy the Studenica river valley, the Izubra waterfalls, and climb Jankov kamen, the highest peak of Golija, before we return to enjoy the warm Golijski konaci bungallows for another night.
Day three – traversing Čemerno and meeting the wild horses on Stolovi
Upon leaving our safehaven on Golija, we first ascend Čemerno mountains, for some moderate mud challenges and a very inspiring ride along the ridge. Then we descend down the Tolišnica valley and cross the Ibar river to climb Stolovi mountain. In the Ibar valley we’ll stop to visit the Maglić medieval castle. The wild horses that we’ll meet on Stolovi mountain are an overwhelming impression, and that will definitely mark the second part of this day! They are very curious and friendly, and personal contact with them is established very easily. Except for the horses, you’ll be thrilled by the vistas opening from the Stolovi ridges in every direction. As the night falls we’ll descend into the dark and demanding Goč forests, with a few hours of night offroad driving to the famous Vrnjačka Banja spa resort, where we’ll settle for the night.
Day four – reaching Kopaonik mountain
On day four of the tour we’ll have an overwhelmingly diverse and picturesque drive from Vrnjačka Banja spa to Kopaonik, over Željin mountain. Eventually we’ll climb the northern ridges of Kopaonik and in late afternoon we’ll finally arrive at the site that will be the Serbian Trophy “battleground” until Sunday. We’ll sleep on that and the rest of our nights in the Rtanj ski hotel, which is a great combination of Rustic and modern details.
Day five – roundtrip of Kopaonik
The first day on Kopaonik is the arrival day for domestic participants of the Serbian Trophy competition, so nothing is really happening yet. We’ll use this day to get you acquainted with this beautiful, 2017 m tall mountain (which is also the most famous Serbian ski resort), getting you to some places that the Serbian Trophy organizers won’t take you in the following days. So it will really be a kind of extended experience of the area.
Days six and seven – Serbian Trophy activities
After breakfast we’ll meet other teams who arrived to Serbian Trophy, as well as the organizers. From this moment on, all through the end of the competition and final lunch on day four, we’ll be enjoying the programme, guided by the hosts of Serbian Trophy (depending on the class you’ve registered for, tourist, soft or hard, your personal programme will differ). It will be a great opportunity not only to get to know the Kopaonik trails but to meet fellow 4×4 enthusiasts who have gathered from all over Europe (average attendance to Serbian Trophy is close to 100 vehicles).
Day 8 – farewell lunch and departure
Serbian Trophy ends with a rawell lunch for all the participants and announcing the winners in both competition categories. If you’re lucky, and skilled enough, you might be among them too! When we say our farewells, we’ll take you on a last offroad section of the entire journey – the descent from Kopaonik mountain to the east. From there you’ll enter the highway, and be on your way home.
The ski hotel Rtanj on Kopaonik, where we’ll be staying during our visit to Serbian Trophy, is a modern building made to retain the rustical feeling of the old Rtanj, from the times when it was still just a wooden hut buit by enthusiasts. Now it offers comfort of fully equipped 3 star rooms, with all contemporary facilities. Kopaonik as a resort offers a broad choice of restaurants, opportunities for shopping, and additional contents for rent, such as quad (ATV) bikes and ski-doos.
Golijski konaci bungalows on Golija mountain, on the other hand, resemble modern holiday houses, containing everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Delicious traditional Serbian dishes are served in the cosy restaurant in the main building. Our hospitable hosts will do everything they can to make you feel at home while staying there!
Accomodation is organized on half board basis + lunch on the move (three meals a day). Lunch will be served mostly in picturesque picnic areas as a lunch package, and when we have the opportunity, we will eat at local ethno-restaurants.
In case you want to stay at the 4 star Grand hotel instead in the Rtanj ski hotel during the 4 nights on Kopaonik, an additional charge of 160 € per person in double rooms, or 240 € in single rooms will apply.

For this tour you’ll either arrive on the spot on Kopaonik mountain (you’ll be supplied with detailed access instructions, coordinates and GPX/KML tracks), or meet our guide in Belgrade, the capitol of Serbia, from where you’ll head off together in a convoy (your preference). This tour will require average offroad experience and skills, and is suitable for families (in tourist class). During the tour a chance to refuel will be available each 200-250 km (petrol, diesel, LPG). All major credit cards (Visa, Master, Maestro, etc.) work in Serbia (both on ATM machines and for paying goods), but it’s advisable to have a small amount of cash for small expenses in the mountainous areas.
A word about taking part in the Serbian Trophy competition. If you decide to take part in the competition (soft or hard class) and your vehicle becomes damaged during the race, we will do our best to connect you with skilled mechanics who may be able to repair the vehicle quickly on the spot or in nearby workshops (at your expense) so you can continue with the activities, but can’t offer any guarantees concerning the speed of repair and availability of parts.
